    GUINNESS

     GUINNESS ~ Male
    Black Lab Mix
    Approximate Birth Date: February 1998

Poor Guinness. He has had a pretty hard life. He hasn't had much good happen to him and will need a very special owner as he spent the first few years of his life abused and tied to a tree in his owner's back yard. He is very devoted to his people and will do anything for you...but he has some issues that will require someone very special to save him from a life alone in a kennel. First, Guinness cannot be placed in a home with cats. Also, certain other male dogs are not a good match with Guinness as he is very protective and does not respond well to other dominant male dogs in his territory. If you can work with Guinness and can offer a home environment without cats and other male dogs....Guinness will be the most devoted and smart best friend you could ever have.

    BOGART

      BOGART ~ Male
    Chihuahua
Approximate Birth Date: September 25, 2005

Poor little Bogart didn't understand why his "doggy dad" didn't want him and was making his "doggy mom" send him away. He wasn't a bad dog, really. He just had never gotten the training or socialization that so many little dogs need to help them adjust to a world of giants, so he would nip at his "doggy dad" out of fear. He hadn't been neutered either and was just following nature's call when he would mark his territory as well.

Bogart's "doggy mom" was beside herself after calling a number of humane societies and rescues who all told her they would euthanize poor Bogart.

Bogart was only 18 months old and weighed only 3 pounds when PetPromise rescued him from certain euthenasia. He has now been neutered and vaccinated, and his foster mom is providing the training and socialization he missed out on as a puppy.

Bogart can still be a little fearful, but only when he first meets someone. The key to interacting with Bogart is to begin with plenty of treats and gentle words. Those who see past his false bravado and give him the opportunity to warm up to them are rewarded with loads of affection. Bogart would do best in a home without children (they can be a bit too much for the little guy).

Bogart is still working toward becoming house-broken, but is making progress toward that goal as well. Small dogs like Chihuahuas often take longer to house-break than do larger dogs simply because they're bladders are so small. Patience will be important where Bogart is concerned because he is smaller than the average Chihuahua.

Could you be the person with the patience and gentleness to give Bogart a loving, stable and forever home?

DANNY & GINNY ~ Male & Female siblings
    Jack Russell Terriers
Approximate Birth Date: August 15, 2006

Danny and Ginny are a brother and sister pair of purebred Jack Russell Terriers (click on the breed to learn more about this breed that is NOT for everyone!). Danny & Ginny are just a year old and were adopted by an elderly couple when just babies and loved very much. However, when the couple was stricken with serious medical issues that wouldn't allow them to care properly for their "babies", as hard as it was, they wanted to do what was best for Danny & Ginny. So they decided that it was best for PetPromise to make certain that these two got the second wonderful, loving home that they deserve.

Because these two one year olds have been together all of their lives, they need to be kept together as a pair. Both do great with other dogs and kitties. (Neitehr has been around young children). Both are crate trained (they stay in the same crate....and really cannot be trusted lose around the house when noone is home....they are still mischevious puppies!)

Ginny is quite the social butterfly and just loves everyone the minute she meets them. Danny on the other hand is a little shy but becomes a little lovebug once he gets to know you a bit! They are both good on leashes, they know how to come, sit and lay. They were "paper trained", and are now learning to "go" outside.

Are you the forever home that these two pups need? In exchange they will offer unconditional love for.....let's say the next 10-15 years!

Approximate Birth Date: November 1, 1998

Sweet little Star is a 10lb. 9 year old female Yorkshire terrier. She's very gentle and loving, gets along well with dogs and cats, and she loves people.  Little Star was surrendered by her owner when her owner tragically lost her home and was unable to care for her any longer.

Star is not completely housetrained at this time (most litle dogs are not ever completely houstrained!) She is a very sweet and loving little dog that is looking for a loving home where she can spend her senior years.

      PEANUT ~ Male
    Chihuahua
    Approximate Birth Date: July 2006

Peanut is a darling little male Chihuahua. He weighs in at just 3 1/2 lbs....but should weigh about 5 lbs....he is just so malnourished! He was found hovering on a busy downtown street...so scared, starving, just bones and skin. He is sweet and as cute as they come. Peanut loves everyone....is gentle and so sweet and loving...he is a very special little boy!

Peanut would do best in a home without small children or large dogs because he is so small and could be hurt very easily. He is a jewel...won't you make him yours?
