    LEO

    LEO ~ Male
    Chihuahua Mix
    Approximate Birth Date: November 2007

Poor, poor little Leo. This sweet little 12 lb. Chihuahua Mix has been through so much in his short time on earth. Unfortuantely, Leo was not treated well by the person who owned him previously. Because he was abused, he is very fearful of people and does not trust anyone.

He wasn't a bad dog, really. He just had never gotten the training or socialization that so many little dogs need to help them adjust to a world of giants, so he snaps at people out of fear. He does great with other small dogs....and is working on housetraining.

It will take a lot of time and love to get this guy to trust again...and we are willing to give him that chance. Leo would NOT be a good dog for a family with children or for people who do not understand dogs who nip when afraid. Leo needs a very special home that is willing to give him the time that he needs to trust them...and who is willing to protect Leo from ever being harmed again.

    LILY ~ Female
    Black Lab Mix
    Approximate Birth Date: May 2008

Lily is a very special girl. Not more than a puppy herself, she was tossed out and left on THE SIDE OF THE ROAD with two 6 week old puppies. She was so lovign and loyal, she stayed there day after day, pacing back and forth, waiting for her owners, the people that she loved and trusted to return. They nver did.

Lily is very sweet and gentle...but is afraid after what happened to her. She still looks for her owners...probably believing they will be back for her. What a sweet girl. Just about a year old now, she needs a place where she can be safe and loved forever. She is great with cats, dogs, kids, anyone...but she needs a gentle and loving hand (she is afraid of new situations and change). Can you love Lily?

PRECIOUS, PRINCESS & ANGEL ~ Females
    Chihuahuas
Approximate Birth Date: April 2003 and June 2006

These three Chihuahua girls need a loving home. Precious (the mother of Princess & Angel) is 6 years old and the two girls, Princess & Angel, are 3 years old (this is young as these little guys can live well into their late teens!) They are the sweetest girls...and were very much loved by their owner. But due to the economy...and some bad luck...the owners of these beautiful girls lost their home...and wanted them to have a good loving home...even if it couldn't be with them.

It is a very sad situation for everyone involved...but no one is more sad than Precious, Pricness & Angel. What will they do without the family that has loved them for their whole lives? We are hoping to help them find a home where they will be loved and cherished...as this is breaking everyone's hearts!

All three girls love each other and it would break their hearts to be split up...but if that is the only way that these three girls can find loving homes...then that would be better for them than to stay in foster care and never having a home of their own. So, while we would like to find a home that would love all three, we would consider placing them seperately if they can't find a home together. These girls sleep together, and go out together...and walk on leashes together. They are definitely a family unit and it is like have one dog...really! It is really fun and cute to have them all curl up on your lap at once and walking all three down the street makes everyone "awwww". They do great with cats, other dogs, and children. They love children...and men too...they actually (especially Princess) seek out men to be with...which is pretty special as it is less common in some of the smaller breeds!

Precious is the smallest of the three...and the lightest in color....she is so gentle and sweet. She will just sit in your lap for hours. She is a love bug...and the biggest cuddler of the group.

Princess is the sweetest and shiest of the three. But she is the little lover...and once she gets over beign shy...she will roll on her back and give you her tummy. She is the alrgest of the girls (weighing about 6-7 lbs).

Angel is the smaller daughter of Precious (she looks almost exactly like Precious). She is the little Alpha dog. She tries to protect her Mommy and her sister. She is the first to bark (and gets the others barking at times) and she is the first over to check things out...and to eat, etc. She is the most confident of the three, and once she has checked you out and stopped barking she is all over you wagging her tail, etc. Seh loves to kiss...and to be held...and she is sooo cute!

These are three very special little girls...that deserve a forever home where they can stay together and be loved. They have been through so much...and they are adjusting...but they deserve a place where they can live together as the littel family that they are.

    AMOS

     AMOS ~ Male
    Brown & White Staffordshire Terrier
    Approximate Birth Date: April 2008

Sweet & Gentle Amos. He has had a pretty hard life. He hasn't had much good happen to him until April 2010. Before that, Amos was wandering the streets begging for help and food....and the next thing he knew, someone was calling to him. He ran happily to them...and then found himself locked in a cage in a Toledo Animal Shelter...where no pit bull made it out alive. EVER.

But Amos was destined for greatness. He was so gentle and sweet that the new Dog warden could not imagine euthanizing Amos...so she fought back to try to save him. You can read all about the long battle that she along with PetPromise (through our Dog Rescue & Adoption Coordinator Kelly) and other animal loving officials and media launched to save Amos and other friendly adoptable pit bulls from automatic death sentences they received in Toledo in The Toledo Blade

Thanks to some very special people, the media, and the personality and face of an angel, Amos (now known as "Famous Amos") can embark on a new life where he will be loved and cared for forever.

Amos is great with everyone...and loves other dogs. (He spends his days at the Canine Social Club in Grandview). He is smart, gentle and loving...and deserves a loving home where he can devote himself to his family (and he will). Amos desrves the love of someone very special...he was the first adult "pit bull" to make it out of the Lucas County pound alive... you can help him live his life surrounded by love.

      ADDIE ~ Female
    Brown & White Staffordshire Terrier
    Approximate Birth Date: September 2009

Please complete an on-line adoption application if you are interested in giving little Addie a loving home. Addie is an absolutely adorable little girl American Stafforshire puppy who was rescued from a high kill rural pound. She and her mother Amelia were actually found sitting on the roof of a home huddled together terrifed! When the Humane Officer asked the homeowner if they were his dogs he said no. He didn't care what happened to them. This was probably because he lacked the proper insurance to have this breed in the first place. It is so sad that he was willing to turn his back on two animals who were loyal and who loved him even as they were being hauled off to the pound where their owner knew they would most likely be killed.

Well, little Addie is just way too sweet for that. She is a gorgeous girl and is great with other dogs and of course people. When it comes to other dogs she does have a more dominant personality and would best in a home with submissive dogs. She is absolutely stunning (her pictures do not do her justice!) and she really just needs someone to love and who will love her forever. Could that be you?

      MOBY ~ Male
Gold/Tan American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier
    Approximate Birth Date: December, 2009

Moby, like his brother Bronx, was rescued from a kill shelter in Ohio the night befiore they were going to be euthanized. He was just a little baby...and never even had a chance to live his life. Shortly after being rescued he and his brothers all came down with parvo. His brothers recovered quickly, but poor Moby was hit very hard by this lethal virus and had to be hospitalized in ICU at Ohio State for 8 days.

There were many times where we did not think he would pull through. But, Moby was strong....and lived fo rthe attention and love that he received from the hospital staff. (This boy thrives on love and attention!)

Today he ia happy and healthy puppy! He loves people and other dogs...he is playful and will make a great best friend for someone. This little guy has HEART and deserves a wonderful forever home.
